During Alert Level 1, Health and Wellbeing services will be by appointment only:

  • Monday – Thursday 9am to 3.30pm.

  • Fridays remote appointments only – 9.00am -12.00pm

  • Kensington and Dyer Street Visits will re-commence beginning of Semester 2

  • Remote services are available to students on NorthTec’s Regional Campuses.

Appointment formats offered will be:

  • In person (at the Health Centre) – 1.00pm to 3.30pm

  • Phone or email

  • Zoom

You will need to phone or email Jann, our Registered Nurse to arrange an appointment time.

We will regularly post helpful information and tips on our Facebook Page – follow us to get the updates.

Hand sanitising and social distancing expectations will be in place within the Health Centre.

If you are unwell please stay at home. DO NOT come to the Health Centre. Contact Jann for advice.

COVID-19 symptoms are similar to the common cold and/or flu. You should be tested if you have an acute respiratory infection with at least one of the following symptoms: cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, head cold (runny nose, sneezing, post nasal drip), loss of sense of smell, with or without fever.

During Alert Level 1 NorthTec continues to have a responsibility to keep all students and staff safe. If you become unwell for any reason you need to let your tutor know AND if you have COVID-19 Symptoms and/or you are tested for COVID-19 please let Jann know by phone or email. Do not return to campus until you have been symptom free for 48 hours.

This information will help us stay in touch with you to make sure you are recovering. We will keep your information confidential but we will be required to provide a record of the students affected by COVID-19 to the Ministry of Health.

Health Centre Nurse

Kia ora, my name is Jann. I am an experienced registered nurse and have worked at the NorthTec Health Centre since 2011.

I have worked in primary health care for over 20 years. Through this experience I have gained a very broad, general health care knowledge base.

I have completed specific training in the following areas:

  • Mental Health and Addictions Credential for Primary Health Care Nurses

  • Certificate in Contraception and Sexual Health

  • Audiometry (hearing testing)

I look forward to assisting you with your health and wellbeing needs.
