Student Health and Wellbeing support is available to all NorthTec students, across our region. Our experienced Registered Nurse offers a wide range of professional and confidential health and wellbeing services. The aim is to provide high quality health care in an environment sensitive to your spiritual, cultural, emotional and physical wellbeing. We value your learning success and our aim is help you maintain and improve your wellbeing.

COVID-19 symptoms are similar to the common cold and/or flu. You should be tested if you have an acute respiratory infection with at least one of the following symptoms: cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, head cold (runny nose, sneezing, post nasal drip), loss of sense of smell, with or without fever.
NorthTec continues to have a responsibility to keep all students and staff safe. If you become unwell for any reason you need to let your tutor know AND if you have COVID-19 Symptoms and/or you are tested for COVID-19 please let Jann know by phone or email.
This information will help us stay in touch with you to make sure you are recovering. We will keep your information confidential but we will be required to provide a record of the students affected by COVID-19 to the Ministry of Health.

Kia ora Ko Jann Leaming tōku ingoa. He Tapuhi e mahi ana ahau. No Tamaki Makaurau ahau, engari kei Whangārei toku kainga inaianei. Kia ora, my name is Jann. I am an experienced registered nurse. I am originally from Auckland, moving to Whangārei in 1993. I have worked in primary health care for 30 years. Over this time I have gained experience and knowledge in a broad range of health and wellbeing matters. I have extended my nursing practice with training in the following areas:
Mental Health and Addictions Credential for Primary Health Care Nurses
Certificate in Contraception and Sexual Health
Audiometry (hearing testing)
Authorisation as an independent vaccinator
