Join us for the graduate exhibition of Maunga Kura Toi, Bachelor of Māori Arts.

The exhibition Tātou offers a view of sharing and understanding of concepts unique to everyone. This is bound by the practice of creating and learning within Maunga Kura Toi - Bachelor of Māori Arts.

Understanding this knowledge through the application of kaupapa toi provides the ākonga with the ability to create, reflect and respond to one’s own visual language using various mediums. The foundational concepts within each toi have allowed the practitioners the ability to foster and explore various kaupapa within their own individual work from a traditional and contemporary perspective.

The Maunga Kura Toi - Bachelor of Māori Arts is a unique opportunity to learn Whakairo, Rāranga or Rauangi, with ākonga gaining a deeper understanding of Ngā Toi. The degree equips ākonga to contribute significantly to Toi Māori, Te Ao Māori, communities and industries.

Raranga: Josephine Thompson, Olivia George

Rauangi: Crystelle Perrin, Katrina Fleming, Rawinia Le Noel

Whakairo: Anthony Weijermars, Haimona Brown, Meka Kahui-Mauriri, William Leonard

Opening night 6PM Monday 28 November.

Exhibition open 10AM–4PM Monday–Friday, 29 Nov–9 Dec at the Geoff Wilson Gallery.
