Health and Wellbeing support is available to all ākonga, across our region.

Nurse Services

Our experienced Registered Nurse offers a wide range of professional and confidential health and wellbeing services. The aim is to provide high quality health care in an environment sensitive to your spiritual, cultural, emotional and physical wellbeing. We value your learning success and our aim is help you maintain and improve your wellbeing.

Available in-person (in Whāngarei) or remotely – email, phone and zoom. Services include:

  • General Health Advice
  • Health Screening
  • Hearing and Vision Testing
  • Accident Care
  • Wellness and Health Promotion
  • Lifestyle advice (e.g. Stress Management, Quit Smoking)
  • Referral to a Doctor or other Health Professional
  • Emergency Contraceptive Pill
  • Contraceptive Advice
  • Pregnancy Tests
  • Cervical Smears
  • Free Condoms and STI checks

Counselling Services

Let us support you to overcome any issues that are impacting your study. There are times in all our lives when we encounter personal problems or life crises. It may be work or study stress, relationship concerns, financial problems, bereavement, drug or alcohol use or just about anything. When you are struggling with dealing with these, your studies will be affected.

We can help you to resolve these worries as quickly as possible through access to Vitae, as part of our commitment to promoting a healthy learning environment and helping you succeed.
