Chaplains

Adrian Whale, Co-ordinating Chaplain

Adrian Whale,
Co-ordinating Chaplain

Need someone to listen to you as you share your story?

A little help to find peace in the midst of the busyness and challenges that life brings?

Maybe you'd like to connect with a faith community on or off campus?

Or you may want to explore questions about hope, spirituality, the purpose of life?

Whatever your need, whatever your background, chaplains are here to listen, to help, and to encourage you. They have been tertiary students themselves and know what the pressures of study can be like, especially when you are living away from home.

Our chaplains are trained in pastoral care and spiritual support. We link in closely with the support teams on campus to provide a wholistic well-being service based on the Te Whare Tapa Wha model.

We are also here to support events on campus, and provide a voice in keeping the 'spiritual' on the agenda of NorthTec.

Our chaplains have been commended by our local faith communities, and are sponsored by the Auckland Northland Regional Ecumenical Tertiary Chaplains Trust (ANRETCT). As such we adhere to the Code of Ethical Practice of the Aotearoa New Zealand Tertiary Chaplains Association (ANZTCA) http://www.anztca.net.nz/cep.html
