This course is ideal for people wanting to learn basic Te Reo Māori skills. You will learn greetings, numbers and words in Te Reo. The programme comprises an introduction to Te Reo, ko ahau tēnei, literacy and numeracy

How will I learn
Students can choose to do either ONE (part-time) or TWO (full-time) classes per week.
Kerikeri:

Monday 5PM - 9PM

Tuesday 5PM - 9PM
Noho marae will be scheduled each month (5 PM Friday - Sunday morning). You must attend one for each course. If you miss one you can make it up by going to the next available one. Food is provided. Staying/sleeping overnight on the marae is optional.

Mana Tangata: Learn to use te reo Māori at a foundation level as an expression of Mana Tangata.

Mana Whenua: Learn to use foundation level reo Māori to voice connections to the land and the environment, prominent places and people of the area, as an expression of Mana Whenua.

Mana Reo: Apply foundation level reo Māori in context and develop an emerging respect for te reo as an expression of Mana Reo.

Mana Ao Tūroa: Use foundation level te reo Māori to achieve tasks as an expression of Mana Ao Tūroa.
Entry requirements
All applicants must:

be at least 16 years old at the time the programme commences

be able to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level

be physically able to complete the programme-specific outcomes.
Qualification gained
New Zealand Certificate in Te Reo Māori (Reo Rua) (Level 2)
