About this programme

A motivational program using sports, gym and ocean activities as a tool to help discover direction and goals in your life.

Learn about the moana, tides, winds, waves, how to operate safely in this setting, all embedded within a tikanga Māori framework. Develop literacy, numeracy and work readiness skills through building confidence and respect for the environment.

Delivered in partnership with Moana Futures Limited. 

Core skills

The development of literacy, numeracy and information technology is embedded and applied throughout the learning experience. 

This programme gives you the chance to study in a supportive environment where you get the time and individual attention you need to achieve a level 2 qualification.

Pathways to higher education and career pathways are some of the outcomes including a level 2 qualification in foundation sport.

Entry requirements

All applicants must:

  • be at least 16 years old at the time the programme commences

  • be able to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level

  • be physically able to complete the programme-specific outcomes.
