How to book

  1. Download the SafeTrades Course Calendar to view the available dates

  2. Complete the SafeTrades Booking Form for the training required. The form has fields enabling you to book up to five people. If you want to book for more than five people, please enter the additional details in the Comments field.

  3. Those individuals who have not previously enrolled on a SafeTrades Short Course during the last year are also required to complete the NorthTec Online Enrolment Form. Each student only needs to do this ONCE per year.

  • Why workplace incidents and accidents need to be reported and investigated

  • Have knowledge different investigation models, including multiple causation and root cause analysis

  • Follow the incident investigation process

  • Complete incident investigation reports

Course overview

17601: People credited with this unit standard are able to: explain why workplace accidents need to be reported and
investigated; explain the concepts of multiple causation and root-cause analysis; detail an incident investigation process
using a hypothetical incident; and produce an incident investigation report based on a documented incident.
