Heidelind Luschberger

Horticulture Tutor, Paparoa

In 1991, I visited New Zealand for a holiday and fell in love with the country and its people. Six months later I came back to work on a diverse Biodynamic farm close to Helensville as a ‘WWOOF’er’ (Willing Workers on Organic Farms). The work on the farm was very new to me. Milking cows, feeding calves, pigs, chicken, fencing, gardening and all the things you do on a farm. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

After I left I decided I like to know more about the theory. I studied at NorthTec in Kerikeri for 2 years. At the same time in the evening I completed my Adult Teaching Certificate. It was a great time with fantastic dedicated tutors. During my studies I was offered a tutor job at NorthTec. I have been teaching in Wellsford/Mangawhai and now in Paparoa. In between I was employed as a coordinator for NorthTec for all the courses South of Whangarei.

My passion is to raise peoples awareness of their environment and of what we are doing as a people so that they are inspired to make changes in their everyday lives. That’s what changes the world!
