NorthTec graduates will fill Whangarei’s CBD when they march through the town to celebrate their graduation at this year’s event on Friday, 1 March.
The graduating class of 2018 have all successfully completed diplomas, degrees or graduate diplomas.
There will be two ceremonies at Forum North, at 10am and 2pm. At the morning ceremony, students from the following subjects will graduate: Applied Arts; Applied Writing; Conservation and Environmental Management; Agribusiness Management; Sport and Recreation; Applied Science; Te Reo me Ngā Tikanga; Maunga Kura Toi (Māori Arts); Nursing.
The afternoon ceremony, starting at 2pm, will be for graduates of: Information Systems; Software Development; Architectural Technology; Business; Construction; Cookery; Civil Engineering; Web Development and Design; Applied Management; Applied Social Services.
In between the two ceremonies, graduates will take part in their annual march through town. The march will leave the Rose Gardens in Water Street at 1pm and follow its traditional route along Vine Street, Quality Street, Cameron Street and Rust Avenue, finishing back at Forum North.
The student valedictorian is Walter Ching, a Bachelor of Applied Arts.
