NorthTec is holding a second open day for people who are planning to study at tertiary level this year, to follow the release of NCEA results next week.
The event will be held on Thursday, 17 January, from 11am to 2pm, outside the Interactive Learning Centre (ILC) near Gate 1 in Raumanga Valley Road.
NCEA results are due on Tuesday, 15 January. Staff will be on hand to talk to students or parents about the many options available to school leavers at NorthTec, including bridging programmes for those wanting to study at degree level but needing some assistance with study skills.
The event also offers opportunities for students who had been planning to study agriculture with Taratahi, which has now gone into liquidation. NorthTec offers training in agriculture, primary industry skills and horticulture.
With most NorthTec programmes getting under way in February, visitors will be able to submit applications on the day.
NorthTec offers more than 100 study options, from certificates to diplomas and degrees, as well as short courses and adult community education.
The first year of tertiary study is fees-free for most New Zealanders; visit www.feesfree.govt.nz to check eligibility.
