Public invited to health and wellbeing information evenings

Potential students wishing to study nursing are invited to a series of special “health and wellbeing” information evenings at NorthTec’s centres around the region.

The sessions, to be held in Whangarei, Kaikohe and Kerikeri, will also provide information about NorthTec’s programmes in social services and sport and recreation. There will also be a session about nursing in Kaitaia.

The Kaikohe event takes place on Wednesday, 17 October, from 4pm to 6pm, at NorthTec’s centre in Memorial Drive.

The Whangarei session will be held on Thursday, 18 October, from 5pm to 7pm, at the Interactive Learning Centre, near Gate 1 in Raumanga Valley Road.

There will be a health and wellbeing information evening at the Kerikeri centre in Hone Heke Road, on Wednesday, 31 October, from 4pm to 6pm.

Visitors will be able to find out about the three-year Bachelor of Nursing degree and the requirements for being accepted on to the NorthTec programme. They will learn about programmes in Study and Career Preparation, which can pathway students on to the nursing degree if they do not yet meet the academic requirements.

The sessions will also provide information about the Bachelor of Applied Social Work, the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Social and Community Services), and NorthTec’s programmes in Sport and Recreation.

There will be an information evening solely for potential nursing students at the Kaitaia centre in Oxford Street, on Wednesday, 24 October, from 4pm to 6pm.

For more information on all NorthTec programmes, visit www.northtec.ac.nz, email study@northtec.ac.nz or call 0800 162 100.
