The touring Top Art exhibition, featuring a selection of NCEA Level 3 visual arts portfolios that achieved Excellence last year, will be coming to NorthTec’s Geoff Wilson Gallery for just over one week only in July.
This annual exhibition provides inspiration to secondary school arts students covering the five available streams of study – design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
Top Art creates an opportunity for students and their teachers to understand the standard of work required to achieve an Excellence by viewing the top portfolios from 2016. It is also a chance for members of the public to view the high quality of art created in NZ’s secondary schools.
The works will be on display in the NorthTec gallery from 19 to 28 July. The gallery is open for public viewing:
Wed 19 - Fri 21 July 10am - 4pm
Mon 24 - Thurs 27 July 10am - 4pm
Fri 28 July 10am - 12pm
Anyone interested in attending the exhibition outside the normal opening hours may contact the Geoff Wilson Gallery by email, firstname.lastname@example.org, to arrange a viewing time.
The tour covers the whole country and is run by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). The portfolios on display can be viewed on the NZQA website or via a special NZQA Facebook page, at www.facebook.com/NZQATopArt.
