NorthTec shop in Whangarei town centre

NorthTec’s town centre pop-up shop will open in Whangarei next week, for potential students to drop in and find out about study options for 2017.

The temporary shop at 17-19 Rathbone Street (between Global Diamonds and the Bakehouse Café) will operate for three weeks, from Monday 23 January to Friday 12 February.

It will be open from Mondays to Fridays, 10am to 4pm (excluding Northland Anniversary Day and Waitangi Day), and will contain information about all NorthTec programmes starting in semester one, which gets under way in February.

Members of the public can browse the options available at all NorthTec’s campuses throughout the region. Staff will be on hand to take enrolments and answer any queries.

The shop will also be the venue for demonstrations by NorthTec’s hospitality, science and horticulture tutors.

The science department will run interactive chemistry and biology workshops on Tuesday, 24 January and Wednesday, 25 January at 10.30am and 1pm, and also on Tuesday, 31 January and Friday, 3 February, at the same times.

Cooking demonstrations will be held on Thursday, 26 January and Thursday, 2 February, from 10am to 12pm.

Horticultural demonstrations, showing how to graft and repot plants, will take place on Friday, 27 January and Wednesday, 1 February from 12 to 2pm.
