The NorthTec Council is pleased to announce that Dr Mark Ewen has been appointed Chief Executive.
Dr Ewen has been in the position of Acting Chief Executive since September 2016, and his new appointment is effective immediately.
He had previously worked as NorthTec’s Director, Trades and Primary Industries, and has a background in studying and teaching at tertiary level.
Dr Ewen has, among other qualifications, a Diploma in Teaching, Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. He also has a PhD in Sustainable Development.
Born and raised in Lyttelton, he has lived, studied and worked in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, working in both the public and private sectors.
Wayne Jackson, Council Chair, said: “We are delighted to announce that Mark Ewen has accepted the position of Chief Executive. He has a strong history of management at NorthTec, so he understands the organisation very well and we believe he is the best person to lead NorthTec into the future.”
