Community services and organizations gathered at NorthTec Kaitaia On Thursday March 30th to introduce their services to staff and students. This is the fourth year that the Hauora Expo has taken place at the Kaitaia Campus, with it being held once a semester. It's a great way for students to find out what there is in the community and who they can go to for advice and support when they need it. The aim is to enhance the mental, physical and financial wellbeing of staff and students.
Representatives from Safe Network; BNZ; Te Hiku Hauora mobile nursing, dental and mental wellness teams; Far North REAP; Kaitaia Family Budgeting Service and KohatuFit were there to share advice and support.
It was great to meet one of the newest members to the Te Hiku Hauora mobile nursing team - Natalie Medland-Parker - who graduated from NorthTec this year. Natalie has been working with the team for two months.
Kaitaia Family Budgeting Service ran a survey and awarded a spot prize of a Pak’n Save voucher to Gracanne Butters who is studying Level 3 Foundation studies.
Many thanks to NorthTec’s Health & Wellness team who sponsored the event providing a yummy, nutritious lunch of fruit and DIY filled rolls.
