Free talk at NorthTec by Rangimarie Price

A Northland iwi leader will give a free lunchtime talk at NorthTec’s Interactive Learning Centre next month.

Rangimarie Price is the Chief Executive for Amokura Iwi Consortium, a collectively owned Tai Tokerau iwi entity that drives regionally significant projects on behalf of it owners. She is also a trustee of the Tai Tokerau Education Trust and has a special interest in improving Māori access to education and developmental opportunities.

Rangimarie was the only woman selected from New Zealand to attend the prestigious Global Women in Management programme in Washington DC held earlier this year, focusing on economic and social development. The international programme is sponsored by Exxon-Mobil and is attended by international delegates from a range of countries.

A NorthTec business graduate, Rangimarie will return to the Whangarei campus to share her experiences across a range of management and development networks including Māori, women and mainstream.

Her one-hour talk will consider how the Global Women in Management – Advancing Economic Development programme can apply in Northland, and will also look at growing the Tai Tokerau Māori economy, and the need to explore other models of encouraging economic growth.

She will share her knowledge around boosting leadership, technical and professional skills, with a focus for women who work in the non-for-profit and civil sectors. The talk is hosted by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ).

The event will take place at the ILC, Gate 1, Raumanga Valley Road, on Thursday, 19 October, from 12 to 1pm. To register, go to the following address and click on the link:
