Info day has the answers

19 May 2016

Young people who are considering tertiary education can find out all about training programmes at NorthTec at a special youth-focused event.

The NorthTec Youth Info Day takes place at Whangarei Youth Space in the Rose Gardens, Water Street on Thursday, 26 May. The event runs from 3.30 to 5.30pm and will feature information about a wide range of programmes, from certificates to degrees and diplomas.

There will also be a free photo booth, hot dogs and hot chocolate, plus nail painting and sports activities. One lucky young person will be the winner of a competition offering a portable speaker and headphones as the prize.

NorthTec offers fees-free study options for young people aged 16 to 19, learning in an adult environment, in programmes ranging from business administration and computing to farming and forestry. Also available are hunting and pest control, construction and painting, mechanical engineering and vocational studies.

These courses are in addition to the broad range of level 2 programmes offered at NorthTec, which are fees-free to students of any age.

The Info Day will give potential students the opportunity to chat one-on-one with tutors and staff, to find out which programme is best for them and start them on a career path.

For more information contact NorthTec on 0800 162 100 or visit www.northtec.ac.nz.
