NorthTec Pops Up In Whangarei CBD!

Anyone interested in studying at NorthTec will be able to find out more at a temporary pop-up shop in Whangarei’s Strand Arcade.

For three weeks from Monday 26 January (Northland Anniversary Day) to Saturday 14 February, NorthTec will be leasing one of the arcade’s vacant shopfronts, to make it easy for potential students to drop in and chat about study programmes and career options.

The NorthTec shop at 15 Strand Arcade (near Bethells Uniforms) will be open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 12pm on Saturdays (31 January, 7 February and 14 February).

As well as being chock-full of information about NorthTec programmes throughout the region, the shop will feature a chillout zone where people can relax, have a cup of tea or coffee and recharge phones.

NorthTec staff will be on hand to take enquiries and enrolments, and where necessary will link enquirers to the specific study area they are interested in.

Cathy Erstich, NorthTec Campaign and Sponsorship Leader, said: “The NorthTec pop-up shop will provide a great opportunity for passing shoppers in the town centre to drop in and find out more about study options. Anyone thinking of studying at NorthTec will have the chance to talk to staff in a relaxed setting and find out about the programmes we have available.

“For 2015 NorthTec is offering more than 100 programmes covering subjects as diverse as business and computing, arts, forestry, construction and painting, nursing and agriculture and horticulture. We teach programmes at all levels, from certificate to diploma to our seven degree courses, including our brand new degree in Maori arts – Maunga Kura Toi. We also provide foundation programmes for second-chance learners or people seeking to get back into study.

“These programmes will be delivered from our campuses, learning centres and community-based sites throughout the region, giving lots of options for Northlanders. Information on all our programmes will be available at the pop-up shop.”
