Opportunity to gain experience on a community grants board

14 July 2022

Our independent Creative Communities Scheme grants committee is looking for new grants assessors to join them.

Our assessment committee represents our diverse community, so we welcome nominations from anyone who understands the Whangārei arts scene. Whether you’re an Arts student, a professional musician, an avid theatre buff, a provider of arts therapy, or if you are active in keeping cultural arts and traditions alive, your personal experience and perspective is needed.

As a grants assessor, you will be part of a team reviewing Creative Communities Scheme grant applications for local community arts and cultural projects and lending your opinion to the group to determine grant allocations.

This voluntary community service can fit around most people’s work/school and personal commitments. We have 3 funding rounds per year (March, July and October). Each round will involve about 5 hours of reading at your own pace and attending a 4-hour committee meeting (during normal business hours at Council offices).
