Covid Update - 30 November

1 December 2021

Kia ora

Yesterday the Government announced that Northland will move into the Red level of the Covid-19 Protection Framework (traffic light system) on Friday (3 December).

As per our previous messages, this means that anyone coming onto tertiary education sites in Aotearoa New Zealand must be vaccinated and able to show proof of their vaccination status.

Many of you will have completed your studies for this year by then. For those students who are continuing beyond this week, please be aware that you will need to show your tutor your My Vaccine Pass (phone or print version). Tutors will record the fact that they have sighted your pass.

Any students who have not been fully vaccinated (or are unable to provide proof) will be supported to work remotely to the end of the academic year.

If you go into any public areas on campus, for example reception spaces, you will also need to show proof of your vaccine status.
You will also need to wear masks or face coverings indoors on any NorthTec sites, with 1-metre distancing applied, and of course, continue scanning in using QR codes.

Thank you for persevering with your studies during this challenging time. Wishing you all a safe and relaxing summer break.
