NorthTec is signatory to the The Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 (The Code) so our students can be assured that we meet the following high standards set out by the government:
International students are provided with comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date information prior to entering into any study commitments
The recruitment of and contractual dealings with international students are conducted in an ethical and responsible manner
The particular needs of international students are recognised
International students under the age of 18 are in approved accommodation
Education providers have fair and equitable internal procedures for the resolution of student grievances
NZQA has released a series of videos outlining what International students coming to study in New Zealand can expect and what support is available.
You can download a copy of the Code and find the answers to the following questions on the NZQA website:
What is the Code?
Who does the Code apply to?
How do I know if an educational provider has signed the Code?
What if something goes wrong?
My complaint hasn’t been resolved – who do I contact?
How can I contact the IEAA?
How do I get a copy of the Code?
These documents are available in multiple languages. Summary pamphlets can also be downloaded which provides an overview of the Code and the procedure you can follow to raise concerns about the treatment received from a provider.
