Richard Parker
Nelson-born Richard Parker trained as a schoolteacher, and he experienced his craft epiphany during a summer school at Yvonne Rust’s pottery at Parua Bay, in the Far North in 1973. Richard has taught at NorthTec’s Kerikeri campus for the past 20 years. Richard’s research has taken him to China, Japan and South Korea, among other countries.

Mark Graver
Mark Graver is a printmaker at the Wharepuke Print Studio, Kerikeri, a NorthTec tutor and a teacher in New Zealand and internationally. His research involves travelling to Bulgaria and England to take up invitations created by my position within the international printmaking community as an established exhibitor, a pioneer of non-toxic printmaking techniques and as author of the book Non-Toxic Printmaking (A&C Black, London, 2011).

Research and Development
NorthTec is able to offer industry a variety of professional services to assist with research and development. An important strategic component of NorthTec’s role in economic development of the North is the provision of business and industry-focused research and consultancy by staff. We specialise in research and development activity that is systematic, investigative and directed at acquiring new knowledge or creating new or improved products or services. Our aim is to produce quality research.
