NorthTec has educational partnerships with AUT University, that allow Sports Science students to study at NorthTec and to transfer to AUT qualifications with credit. The students who successfully complete the Diploma in Sport and Recreation with us gain automatic right of entry into the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation (AUT) programme through a partnership we has with AUT, New Zealand’s newest university. NorthTec also delivers the third year of the degree in Whangārei thus allowing students to complete the degree without leaving the Northland.

In October 2003 NorthTec and Massey University agreed to cooperate in a venture that would improve study and research opportunities in the region.

The agreement also provides a mechanism for much-needed research to assist the further development of the Northland region, including Māori development. There is a growing range of research needs within Northland and this agreement will enhance the capacity to meet those needs.

The agreement also facilitates cooperation in staff development. www.massey.ac.nz
