NorthTec’s driver trainers are qualified driving instructors, ITO accredited assessors and NZTA approved providers. This coupled with their extensive industry experience, enables our trainers to provide training that meets the requirements of National Unit Standards. They also pass on their own experiences and knowledge to the trainee drivers allowing for a greater learning experience and outcome.

We design and carry out our training activities in collaboration with industry organisations to reduce impact on daily operations while still ensuring professional training standards are maintained.
Course content
Training includes safe driving traffic law, health and safety relating to heavy vehicles, heavy vehicle driving skills, heavy vehicle dynamics, risk reduction, safe driving strategies, vehicle systems and components, loading procedures and restraint systems, log book and fatigue management, and fuel efficient driving.
Assessment
Both practical and theoretical assessments are made throughout the training period.
