Overview
This programme is designed to provide students with sound practical and theoretical skills to enable them to work under supervision in the horticulture industry or continue studying in higher level programmes.

Graduates will be able to:

  • Identify a range of plant species
  • Plan, propogate and grow a wide range of plants
  • Develop problem solving skills
  • Apply basic horticultural skills in a wide range of horticultural sectors
  • Management of weeds, pests and diseases
  • Maintain health and safety in the horticultural workplace.

Admission Information
Entry to this programme is open. However preference is given to those with:

  • A minimum of three years of secondary school
  • Motivation to work in the horticulture sector
  • A passion for horticulture and gardening.

Applicants for whom English is not their first language require a minimum IELTS score of 5.5.
