Overview
This programme will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to create well-designed, well-constructed and well-presented garments for the apparel and textile industry.


Content
Graduates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate skills in industrial pattern making and grading
  • Construct garments in an industrial setting
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the fashion and design industry
  • Use effective workplace communication
  • Undertake production planning, costing, marketing and designing for
    market needs
  • Create original designs.

Admission Information
Entry to this programme is open, however, preference will be given to
applicants who:

  • Have completed at least 3 years’ secondary education preferably with Art
  • Have sound basic English and Maths skills, or have gained other relevant experience since leaving school
  • Can prove they have a genuine interest in this field
  • Can supply garments or artwork in a portfolio.

Applicants for whom English is not their first language require a minimum
IELTS score of 5.5.
