Overview

• To provide students with knowledge and skills of the hardware and
  software used in computer based multimedia
• Participate in both individual and group projects to develop a board
  range of industry relevant practical skills, knowledge and operational
  practices
• Integrate their learning to meet the challenges of diverse digital
  multimedia production environments.

Content
Graduates will be able to:

• Demonstrate knowledge and practical skills in multimedia development and production for CD, DVD, print and web based
  distribution
• Apply skills in the development of digital applications
• Discuss the legal issues involved in multimedia production, the
  standards required by the industry, website marketing and search
  engines
• Create and manipulate graphics and produce Audio and Video
• Create animation for the web for integration and interaction
• Produce websites, CD-ROMs and DVDs.

Admission Information
Applicants must be able to:

• Demonstrate English skills at NCEA Level 2 or reasonable equivalent
• Demonstrate a basic level of functional computer skills and basic
  computer graphic production skills
• Provide evidence of their ability to work and communicate in groups.
