Automotive Engineering

Based at Future Trades, a modern, custom-built premises in the heart of Whangarei’s industrial district, the automotive workshop is loaded with state-of-the-art equipment and plenty of cars to pull apart and rebuild.

The hands-on National Certificate in Motor Industry (Entry Skills) (Level 2) provides the required practical skills and theoretical knowledge for entry into the automotive trades. The National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (Level 3) builds on the level 2 course, covering additional material such as the overhaul of practical systems such as brakes, clutches, engines, fuel pumps and transmissions.

These courses are the perfect platform into a workshop apprenticeship, whether you’re working with cars, motorbikes, trucks, trains or farm equipment. These skills will allow you to travel the world, with the New Zealand qualification internationally recognised and accepted.
