Architectural TechnologyAre you turned on by great architecture? Does the idea of designing or supervising building projects interest you? Do you enjoy computer work as well as getting out into the landscape and learning to truly look at the buildings and spaces around us?

Architecture Diploma

Our students come from all walks of life. Everyone from share-milkers to single mothers to students straight from school have come through our course and gone on to successful careers as architectural designers working for architects, engineers and housing developers, while others have gone on to study for architectural degrees at university.

The National Diploma in Architectural Technology is a broad-based course that gives you a sound grounding in design and aesthetics, as well as more technical skills such as auto-cad and archi-cad and logistical aspects that equip you to cost, document and supervise building projects.

Graduates from this programme will be equipped to work as Architectural Technicians on small and medium scale building projects of limited complexity through all stages from first client contact, research and design, documentation, tender, contract and construction, to completion. After an additional period of suitable experience they will be able to extend their work to include larger and/or more complex building projects.

You won’t just be stuck in a classroom. There are lots of field trips including trips to sites, architect's offices and museums. And even a camping trip where we’ll teach you to sketch freehand (it’s not as scary as it sounds!).
