Catherine Hodder - Travel and Tourism

“For a lot of people travel is a dream and I want to help them create that dream. This course is giving me the skills to do that.”

Before Catherine came to New Zealand from UK, her family travelled extensively throughout UK and in Europe. “I did some other work for a few years here before it hit me that I could get into the travel industry and make it my career!”

“I love the course because we do a different module every couple of weeks. The Destination New Zealand module was especially interesting to me because I’m not from here. For that same reason, I like to think I can offer a different perspective.”

On her one day a week off from NorthTec, Catherine works at House of Travel. “I get to apply what I’ve learned in class. I’d like to manage my own travel store but I want to travel a lot more first. Doing this course will open up a whole world of opportunities.”
