The Apprentice Restaurant is a training venue providing our Hospitality and Culinary students with a "real life" learning experience.
The restaurant is open to members of staff and their guests for lunch at 12pm on Thursdays and for dinner at 6:30pm on Wednesdays. The restaurant is closed during breaks.
Group Bookings
The restaurant can be booked for private functions for groups of between 40 and 60 people if the function date falls on one of the scheduled service days. If you have a group that you would like to make bookings for, please email restaurant@northtec.ac.nz
Requests for other dates are considered on a case-by-case basis: Our ability to fulfil such requests will be determined by the students’ teaching schedule.
Menu
We run an a la carte menu that changes every six weeks and vary lunch and dinner services. A fully licensed bar operates during service. While menus need to meet the training and assessment needs of students, we can be flexible in what we offer given plenty of lead-in time to the function.

Location
The Apprentice Restaurant is on Raumanga Valley Road, Whangarei, at the left of the entrance to Gate 3 into the polytechnic.
Lunch
The Bar opens for lunch throughout the tertiary year on Thursdays at 11.30am. Restaurant services begins at 12pm.

The Bar opens for dinner on Wednesdays at 6:00pm. Restaurant service begins at 6:30pm.
