Scholarships for School Leavers

Scholarships are available to Northland school leavers. Click here for further details and ask your tutor during your interview.
 

The Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship

The Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship has been established to assist women intending to pursue an educational programme for the purpose of gaining a qualification that will enable them:

  • Entry into the workforce

  • A change in occupation

Applications are available from June  and close on 1st September each year.


New Horizons for Women Trust Award

The New Horizons for Women Trust Award provides awards for women. Each year the Trust provides a number of second-chance education, research and specific purpose awards.

The application process is online and we encourage all applicants to use this process. The online form can be saved and documents uploaded. The online application forms are accessed from our website. Click here for more information.
 

2013 Pacific Health and Disability Workforce Awards

The Ministry of Health have opened this scholarship opportunity for people of Pacific descent who are studying an NZQA approved programme of health or disability related studies.

2013 MĀORI EDUCATION TRUST SCHOLARSHIPS

A prestigious scholarship offering valuable financial support to Māori students.

The scholarship programme comprises a range of scholarships for Māori secondary and tertiary students and post graduate. The purpose of the scholarship programme is to provide support for Māori students to pursue and achieve success in programmes of study and training.

Ngāpuhi Scholarships – Applications out Now!

Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi-O-Ngāpuhi  Scholarship Awards  were established in 2003. The overall aim of Ngāpuhi Scholarships is to assist Ngāpuhi students to fulfil their potential for academic success, and encourage applicants to contribute their skills towards the wellbeing and betterment of Ngāpuhi whānau, hapū, iwi.

PIHIRAU HAUORA MAORI SCHOLARSHIPS

The overall aim of the Pihirau Hauora Maori scholarship programme is to encourage more Maori into health and disability fields in areas where Maori are underrepresented as health professionals and overrepresented in terms of health needs. It is the intention of Northland District Health Board and NorthTec, to offer scholarships to assist Maori, who whakapapa to Te Tai Tokerau hapu and iwi, to undertake and/or complete a course of study in the health and disability sector.

Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust

The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust annually funds a number of awards aimed at providing women with financial assistance for retraining and for undergraduate and postgraduate study.

The awards funded by the Kate Edger Educational CharitableTrust are for women resident in the Auckland and Northland areas during the academic year and enrolled at The University of Auckland, the Albany Campus of Massey University, Unitec, Northland Polytechnic, Te Wanaga O Aotearoa, Manukau or Whangarei, or Te Whare Wananga O Awanuiarangi, Auckland.

Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents.
